Overview

This is a placement-based programme, with students developing essential skills such as observation, assessment and problem-solving. The focus is on developing the practical approaches needed to work in the sector through work experience. You’ll build your caring and communication skills, your confidence in working with young children and their families, your understanding of child development and your team-working skills.

A range of pathways are available, dependent on your qualifications.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 or C or equivalent, including English and Maths, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. A satisfactory reference and clear Disclosing and Barring Service (DBS) check are also required.
