This course provides core training for anyone wishing to develop an active career that includes riding, teaching equine science and therapy, for example. Students will get practical applied experience for all units including riding, teaching and caring for horses, science behind rehabilitation and performance, dependent on units taken.
Individuals have the opportunity to tailor units to their area of interest. Students are also encouraged to take British Horse Society (BHS) exams and Young Equestrian Leaders Awards (YELA) alongside the main course (subject to fees).
A range of pathways are available, dependent on your qualifications.
- One-year Advanced Technical Certificate
- One-year Advanced Technical Diploma
- Two-year Advanced Technical Diploma.
Four GCSEs at grade 4 or C or equivalent, preferably including English and Maths, or a relevant BTEC Level 2 / First Diploma. Life experience will also be taken into account when considering applications from mature students. If the individual wants to do the riding units they will be asked to submit a video of their riding ability.
