Overview

Are you passionate about performance? Love the thrill of playing a character onstage to an audience on the edge of their seat? Well this is the course for you. Come to study Drama and see what all the fuss is about. Whether you want to be a great actor, Hollywood director or work behind the scenes, then there is a pathway waiting for you.

• Solo and group performance
• Textual analysis of a minimum of three plays:
        • That Face 
        • Woyzeck
        • Blackbird
• Live Performance Review

40% devised theatre

20% directed performance

40% written examination

Entry requirements

General entry criteria apply plus GCSE English Language at Grade 5. It is essential that you have an interest in the dramatic arts, be willing to perform in front of an audience and experiment with different performance techniques.

Your next steps...

There are a wide range of drama courses on offer at both vocational drama schools and universities that student’s progress on to. At degree level you may choose to specialise in acting, directing, theatre administration, script writing or technical theatre. These can lead to a variety of jobs in the performing arts industry and the communication skills developed will be valuable in most professions.
