As an apprentice you will be working with an employer and earning at the same time as training on the job and studying for a qualification.
Apprenticeships are an ideal way to earn and learn, as an Apprentice you are fully employed and will have one of our industry experienced assessors working with you in your workplace. You with either attend the Grimsby Institute one day a week or on block release from your employer where you will study for your qualification and gain valuable underpinning knowledge about your area of work. As an Apprentice you will have access to the Institute facilities as well as ongoing support and guidance.

Apprenticeships are assessed through portfolio building, practical assessments, assignments, and oral and written questions.
Most apprenticeships require a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or equivalent in English, Maths and ICT and some occupations within the engineering sector require Science at a minimum of GCSE grade 4 or equivalent. A vocational assessment may have to be taken and passed for some apprenticeships before acceptance on the programme.
Successful students may progress to the next level of apprenticeship or directly into employment.
