This new pre-apprenticeship programme works in collaboration with Anglian Water and partners providing a course supported by the employer for students interested in different aspects of construction. The course will concentrate on the water industry and the infrastructure around the water industry and students will do work experience during the course with Anglian Water or one of the partner companies. Students who successfully complete this level 2 course will be guaranteed an interview for an apprenceships with one of the employers supporting the programme.
This is a one year programme preparing students for an apprenticeships with one of the utility companies supporting the course. Students will work on laying domestic drainage, constructing foundations and construction site protection barriers. They will be looking at the existing drainage infrastructure and the supply chain and the improvements that Anglian Water are providing. They will be repairing manholes and chambers, flood prevention and burst mains. Everything involved with the supply of water and the utility sector will be covered as part of the course.
Students will be required to hold GCSE Maths and English grades 4 - 9 (or A*-C)
