Overview
CTEC Media Production students take part in planning, researching and creating media and will build a portfolio of work from a range of media disciplines. These include journalism, TV production, sound recording and advertising.
The first year of the course involves learning about and producing different media products and how the media industry target specific audiences. From this, you will develop and create two key coursework pieces. Page Layout & Design involves the production of a magazine, including writing and photographing content. The second unit focuses on the audio visual aspect of media, in which you will research, plan, shoot and edit a music video.

The vocational media students take part in planning,
researching and production of different types of media. The course will enable you to build a portfolio of work from a range of media disciplines. These range from creating video products, audio recording, advertising, graphic design and screen writing.
• Equivalent to an A-Level after two years, worth the
same as an A-Level in regard to UCAS points and
accepted by 80% of universities
• Mixture of coursework and externally assessed
examined content
• Skills based assignments, based on practical
activities, covering a variety of media disciplines
