Overview
Taught in our ORA Hair and Beauty salons, you will develop theoretical and practical skills in a wide range of hairdressing techniques. You will learn a wide range of modern hairdressing skills endorsed by celebrity stylist Lee Stafford. Throughout the course, you will carry out treatments on real clients in our specialist hairdressing salons.

Blow-drying and styling hair
Colouring and lightening hair
Cutting ladies hair
Health, safety and hygiene
Setting and dressing hair
Shampooing, conditioning and treating the hair and scalp
Styling hair with electrical equipment

50% Assessment - Coursework
30% Assessment - Exam
20% Assessment - Synoptic Exam

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 4 GCSEs at grade 9-4 or grade A*-D or a Level 1 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
