Overview
Equivalent to three A Levels, you'll study various dance genres, including contemporary and classical dance, within a broad curriculum. Throughout the course you'll develop technical and vocational skills for both the workplace and higher education. It's a highly practical and creative programme which develops your performance skills and creative ability. In addition you will have the opportunity to take part in workshops with professional choreographers and companies as well as perform as part of the College's dance company.

Entry requirements
Ideally at least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5 or A*-C including English and Maths or a Level 2 qualification, but this is subject to discussion at your interview. If you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 5 or grade C in English or Maths, then you will study either GCSE or Functional Skills English or Maths alongside your other qualifications.
Your next steps...
After completing your course you could progress on to study dance or performing arts at university or a stage school. Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment in a performing arts related field. Studying dance could lead to a career as a classical or contemporary dancer, choreographer or dance teacher. You could run your own business, perform on cruise ships, in musicals or dance productions.
