T Levels are equivalent to three A levels and are 2 year qualifications bringing classroom learning and work placements together. You will spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45 day placement with an employer giving you additional knowledge and skills.
If you are interested in this level 3 T Level but you don't have the entry requirements there is the option of a Level 2 transition course that will include substantial work experience and a project set by the employer as well as aspects of childcare and education and also maths and english. If this is you then apply for this level 3 course and you can discuss the level 2 at interview.
The T Level in Education and Childcare will give you an overview of childcare and education from birth to 19 years. It will include Child Development, Safeguarding, Behaviour, Special Educational Needs and will look at Parents, Families and Carers and the concept of working with others.
A substantial industry placement with a childcare employer will give you a wider understanding of work in this area. You will develop transferable technical and practical skills in communication through working with other people and you will have the opportunity to do research and take part in a project to demonstrate what you have learnt during the course.
Entry Requirements are 5 GCSEs at grades 4 - 9 including Maths and English.
